Our Move-a-thon raised 60% of our goal!
We've had another successful year at BSMF supporting student midwives all over the Bay Area. Last year for the first time, we were able to award 10 apprenticing students a stipend of $1000 each, as well as provide a free weekend retreat of wellness and collaboration to improve the apprenticing process. This is in addition to our regular, monthly Student Skills Days, which we will be completing another round in this June. With BSMF's support, multiple student midwives around the Bay Area will be completing their academic and apprenticeship courses within the next couple of years!
We raised $6000 during our annual fundraiser!
What that money will go toward:
Monthly Student Skills Days, free for students!
Advanced Student Skills Days, free for students!
Our virtual summer learning series, free for students!
Our Paps and IUI Workshop in the fall
Stipends that go directly to apprenticing BIPOC student midwives
Our Business Incubator program for new midwives
And much more!
Your donations are so appreciated and go directly back to high quality programs for student midwives.
We need your help to close our fundraising gap for this fiscal year. Please consider making a tax deductible donation today!

“Being cared for by a midwife of color for my home birth provided me a feeling of safety. There was a greater understanding due to their lived experience as a person of color. These invaluable lived experiences are needed in predominantly white spaces where BIPOC are excluded and often met with barriers and systemic racism. It is important that all aspects of my midwifery training be informed by a social justice lens for me to provide anti-racist midwifery care for my clients to resist these injustices.”
