Student Skills Days: 2nd and 3rd Stages of Labor

Skills: 2nd and 3rd Stages of Labor

Let's discuss normal birth and the different styles of how to support birth. We will review taking heart tones, supporting the actual birth, immediate postpartum vitals for baby and client, and supporting the placenta birth. We'll talk about signs for when things are out of the normal range. The second half will be mostly hands on practice with the models.

Welcome to the 2026/27 Student Skills Days! We continue to offer these days monthly and for free for anyone who is on the path to becoming a student midwife (you do not need to be enrolled in a school and you do not need to identify as BIPOC to attend). Skills Days will also continue to be offered both in person in Alameda and cast virtually. Please send us an email if you’d like the details or to be added to our student listserv, bipocstudentmidwives@gmail.com. We welcome you to join no matter where in the world you are!
